Strip Clubs

Strip Clubs
This blog is about Memphis’ ordinance to close down strip clubs. I think it would be a great idea to stop prostitution. These people are gaining so much money for such a bad cause. It is like an escape for men to go have beers and watch women dance on polls for pleasure. People are clearly “using” women’s bodies for pleasure. That is not only against all morals but it is a sin. It is sad to think that strippers and prostitutes make more money than half of the people living in Memphis but it is true. What is even more sad is that these strippers and prostitutes feel they have to do this job to make money to live. They are not only trapped in this lifestyle but also literally trapped behind their owners and sometimes even bar to which they are dancing behind. I just think the whole concept of strip clubs are nasty. At first it might upset a lot of people and even the strippers for setting them out of jobs; but in return will not only set them on the right track but maybe even help Memphis. I hope the ordinance passes!

hey girl! to start with I am about to email you my paper, I have been so freaking busy! Anyways though, I also wrote about this whole stripper and prostitute issue in Memphis, I guess I did not look at it that way, when I read it, but you make a really good point, about how they make more money, then most regular people do that live here now. Well I just thought I would tell ya that! see ya soon!

I disagree. First of all strippers are not prostitutes. No, I'm not naive, I do realize that prostitution happens. But the majority of strippers are not prostitutes. There is a big difference. Strippers are not having sex for money. Some of them don't even take off all their clothes. While I'm not trying to say it's an ideal job, but some people don't have the same opportunities that we do. I can tell you right now if it was down to me being homeless or stripping, well pass me a pole! If that's how women want (or have) to live, and that's how men want to spend their money, then I don't see anything wrong with that. Sex is a huge part of our society and I don't know why people try to cover it up and pretend it doesn't happen.

Hey Court. I read this blog and thought it was very interesting. It was brave of you to write about such a controversial issue. I do think that stripping is some form of prostitution. It might as well be they are selling their bodies for money.

Hey Courtney! I agree with you on the whole issue. Just thinking about a strip club makes me sick. I hate when men look at me or make comments to me in public and I can only imagine how disgusting men at strip clubs are. I think it is very sad that these girls feel they have to be strippers in order to make money. I do feel getting rid of strip clubs would be best. No good comes from them.

courtney i totally agree with you on this blog. i wrote about the strip clubs too. I think they are completely trashy and ruining girls self confidence. I mean how can they make more money than average people in America. Hey lets just quit school and become strippers how about that one? haha

I completely agree with you on this one! Plus the types of girls who work in strip clubs...wouldn't want to touch them in any way. I wrote about this too and i also said that they should take these kinds of places out of memphis, but not only memphis.

i think im going to have to agree with emily. not all strippers are prostitutes. in fact im datting a stripper and he is not at all a prostitute. and just because strip clubs have something to do the crime rate doesn't mean we should get rid of it. i mean alchool is a cause of crime should we close down any place that sell it. no. in fact i think that if you close all strip clubs the prostitution rate will go up because the people who feel like stripping is the only thing they can do will have to sink lower whcih is prostitution. so in sense your making the crime rate go up. and let me tell you if it came down to it i would gladdly take off my clothe to make money if it meant supporting my family.
